Description

Usage

Symphony is intended for walls. Since it is porcelain, it may be suitable for some residential floors with very light traffic but, as with all glossy glazes, it can be slippery and is subject to scratching.

Coordinating Trim

Expect variation in color and size betwen field and trims. There is limited shade variation on the pencil bullnose; the shading is more uniform that the field tile.

Installation

Symphony is intended for walls. Since it is porcelain, it may be suitable for some residential floors with very light traffic but, as with all glossy glazes, it can be slippery and is subject to scratching. It is important to work with the layout, mixing pieces within each carton and pulling from several cartons, to get the proper blend during installation. Due to the different production techniques and times, expect variation in size and color between field and trim.

The minimum recommended grout joint is 3/32”. Please note that the material is non-rectified. If using more than one item together, please check the caliber and be aware that you may have to adjust the size of the grout joint to makeyour pattern work.

As long it is installed properly, and not where people are walking (where slip resistance is an issue), and as long as it is maintained with normal chemicals used for cleaning pools, this porcelain tile is suitable for swimming pools and fountains. It should be noted, however, that the glossy surface is susceptible to scratching, so people should be aware of that with their cleaning practices (avoid using abrasive brushes and aggressive chemicals). It is important to note that the coordinating trim is from a separate production and is not suitable for swimming pools or for any exterior application.

Due to the nature of this special material, orders must be for full boxes only. Please note that we do not acceptreturns in general. In the rare occurrence that we make an exception and do take a return of this product, only factory sealed full boxes can be accepted.

testing

The Coefficient of Friction is a general guide only. Testing may vary with different production runs and with different testing labs.

As noted in the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) the coefficient of friction varies considerably due to facts not under the control of entities such as the manufacturers and distributors. These factors include, but are not limited to, contaminants, slope of terrain, drainage conditions, adjacent surfaces, etc. Suitability for any installation can only be determined by a site examination of all conditions that could affect the slip resistance of the tile being installed. Continual cleaning and maintenance must be performed once the tile has been installed.
